Recently, several of our students have visited Spain for short trips and holidays, to practise their Spanish and take in the varied culture that Spain has to offer. The difference being, that this time our students were lucky enough to meet the parents of our tutors Elena and María! It's great to see our students not only getting on well with their tutors in class but also knowing them well enough to visit them and their families in their native Spain.

Martin, a student with us since February 2014, joined Cardiff Spanish Academy to learn Spanish for his frequent trips to Spain. He has just returned from visiting Elena's home town of Elche in Alicante. Martin and his wife met Elena and her family in a local restaurant and got to know each other over some tapas y copas:

Richard and Rhos, both María and Elena's students, have been students with us since July 2013 when they improved their level of Spanish in order to travel around Central and South America, visiting pretty much every country you can! They continued to have lessons with us and last month, they visited Madrid. There, they met with María's family who cooked this amazing feast!

Learning Spanish isn't just about the progress made in class with mastering the language, it's very much also about the social interaction, soaking up the culture, trying the cuisine and gaining an insight into the local traditions and customs.

It's wonderful to see our students and tutors become friends and share experiences like this together!
